I have heard a few complaints that I not updating the site enough so here is what has been going on at the house. David has been plumbing, which the top out is completed. This weekend he and three friends worked on wiring the house, for electrical, phone and tv. It is getting difficult to walk through the walls with all the stuff in them. After the wiring is completed he'll get to work on the heating system (putting in the vents and air returns). Once this is done the house will be ready for drywall but I don't know if we will.
We met with the cabinet guy and chose natural cherry for the cabinets. I met with the door/trim supplier the other day then David had a few adjustments to make for the bifold door openings. I also picked out all the tile for the house this week. I picked up three of our ceiling fans at Home Depot. They were 20% off so I couldn't pass them up! I figure the more money I save on these lights, the more I can spend on the others... This comes from the many years of shopping training I received as a child.

Glad to see you paid attention to the shopping techniques -- your Mom is one 'super shopper'.
Your blog is every bit as interesting as HGTV Dream Home! I enjoy seeing the progress (sprinkled with kids activities).
