David's shopping problem

I'm sorry to let you all know of David's illness. He is a closet shopaholic! Who would ever suspect HIM of shopping too much, BUT I have the evidence with the above photo.
We have begun the daunting task of moving.
We are moving some of the stuff in our storage at our current house to the barn and shop at the new place. The other day David, the kids and I moved his duck decoys. This photo is of over 1,000 decoys, many still in their original packaging! It filled 3/4 of our three horse trailer and when unloaded, filled one 12x12 stall about four feet high!

The easier way

5/20/06

When we were pulling the miles of blackberry vines entangled in the mosterous piles of tree stumps and limbs I kept saying to David "There HAS to be a easier way." Well, he found it in this backhoe. He has been having fun playing in the dirt since it was delivered Thursday. If I can remember, I will get some pictures of the stumps for you to see. I'm sure the horses will appreciate having them out of their pasture. The fewer the stumps, the more the grass.

Michelle and her horses

5/14/06
Here's Rupert and Michelle warming up for another round of team penning. We have a lot of fun chasing cows. Today we penned with a gal from Larned, KS, small world..
The other picture is Michelle with Cherokee a little Pony of America she is training. Will he become part of the family?

Wild flowers from a wild kid

Susannah picked these flowers at the property Saturday and gave them to me as an early Mother's day gift. We have so much beauty in nature at the property. We all are looking forward to exploring. Maybe next year...

I can pound nails!

I am always behind the camera so this is the first picture of me working on the house. In this picture I am strapping pipes. Most of my jobs consist of hammering; joist clips, plumbers tape, wire staples, stud guards... My least favorite was the joist clips because the nails had to go through metal before going into the wood.

Tile samples

Here are some of the tiles which will be going into the house. The first one is the tile for the girl's bathroom. The color tiles will be the backsplash at the vanity and will also be used for some accents in the shower. I love the tiles with the pictures on them. We are getting just a few of those tiles. The second is our new floor tile for the majority of the house. It is sitting on our tile floor in our current house. You can see it is not much different, just a little more grey and no cream.

Still wiring

5/8/06
We are almost done wiring the house. David is working on the exterior lights and the outlets for all his Christmas lights. We will have an outlet under the eave at each of the four corners of the house for the Christmas lights. A little overkill don't you think, considering our driveway is 1000 feet long and our house cannot be seen by anyone driving by.
I spent the weekend running kids around and stapling the "home run" wires in the rafters of the house. I could use that jetted tub about now!
